Sharing Your Story

Thank you for taking the time to hear our church’s story and what God has done here at MERCYhouse. Now, we’d love to hear your story!

if you decide that you want to become a member of MERCYhouse, you’ll have the opportunity to share your story with an Elder or Deacon. We do this so we can celebrate what God has done in your life, learn more about you, and figure out how we as a church can best serve and love you based on where you’re at in your walk with God.

A helpful Resource

When you meet with and Elder or Deacon, you will likely share a meal and be asked questions to serve as prompts for sharing how God has been at work in your life. We pray that this would be an encouraging time and that you (and the Elders/Deacons) would be blessed by it!

You’re welcome to share your story however you’d like, but we use this resource to help people starting thinking of their stories in light of the Gospel and God’s Story.

What was your general upbringing like (particularly, if you had spiritual influence growing up or not)?

If you are a follower of Christ, how did God specifically show you who He was through Christ and bring you to a place of acknowledging your personal need of the cross and resurrection (e.g. Scriptures, sermons, people, conversations, books, media, life circumstances, etc.)? At what point or in what season did this occur in your life?

If you have not yet trusted in Christ for salvation, what are the things you are processing now? Where do you have trouble trusting the gospel message?
